Frequently Asked questions
I will go through my emails and list every questions that I have been asked along with questions that people have asked me at work. I will add several a day.
1. Don’t you get hungry by having not liquid?
Honestly, the answer is no. I was hungry for the first week to 10 days but I have adjusted and really don’t feel hungry. Sometimes I have to remind myself to have a shake and have to go make one. Many people in my class forgot to have their 5 shakes because they are not hungry. Nomally if I go beyond 3 hours I start to get hungry and after I have a shake it passes. Sometime I do get hungry, I am human of course and if it gets too bad I just have an extra one or two.
2. Do you still go to the bathroom?(Do I still go poo)
Besides going to use the restroom from all the liquids the answer is yes. Just because it is liguid doens’t mean no solids are there. Not to be to dtailed but it is normally smaller, more dense and darker. Sort of like rabbit poo at first but normally I go everyday.
3. When I started did I have energy or felt tired?
I felt a little tired maybe the third day but maybe for a day or two and then I felt like myself. It takes 3 days for your boyd to adjust to convering stored fat vs taking glyogen (stored carbs) for energy. Remember that you are still having carbs but the main energy supply is stored fat. After the first week I had alot fo energy and now it is simple incredible.
4. I have read that you alwys have your shakes as hot chocolate, is that true?
Yes.. sounds boring but it is true and I actually like it that way. I am doing the HMR800 shakes with around 14 ounces of water and it fills my stomach and it is hot which gives me a more “full” feeling. As of today (Feb 2) I have had around 700+ shakes. I have had some of the soups and of course the wonderful HMR70+ shakes as a pudding.
5. How much does it cost?
I will write about the cost next week but generall I pay about $70 a week for the shakes and every 4 weeks I pay a litle over $100 for blood draw, lab work and classes. Prices depend on your status, blood work, etc.
6. Have you had any side effects?
Some people get headaches and other things but I haven’t had anything. Remember you are basically going cold turkey from food and breaking addictions from sugar, etc. This is most likely normal from any diet.
7. Is going all liquids the only choice you have?
No, HMR has several choices and you can set up your own program. Some people do healthy solutions (2 or 3 shakes a day, meals and fruits and veggies). Pleaese go to an orientation to learn more.
8. Where are you from?
I live in Ohio and atteneding HMR here at my local hospital.
